Trip to the San Juan
Get ready for an exciting Fall Trip to the beautiful San Juan River, planned for Monday, November 3rd to Friday, November 7th, 2025! Monday and Friday will be our travel days, giving us plenty of time to settle in and wrap up, while Tuesday through Thursday are dedicated to fun-filled days of fishing and comradery. Dave Brown is our awesome trip planner and your go-to contact for any questions—feel free to reach out to him at 915-206-0626 or dwbrown3@comcast.net. We’re looking forward to a great time together—more details to come!
We kindly ask that payments be made through PayPal for convenience. To secure your spot on this amazing San Juan River adventure, a $256 deposit on PayPal will reserve your room and board. It is quick and easy—just click here to pay for Lodging & Food/Meal Plan, and you’ll receive an immediate receipt. https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/CUDJD5RK5AVS6.
If paying cash, a deposit of $245.00 will reserve your room and board. Mail checks to MVFF, PO Box 2222, Las Cruces, NM 88004-2222. Mail early because it's called snail mail for a reason.
When is payment due?
Room and Board Reservations: Reservations are made on a first-come basis. To save your spot, please make a room and board payment as soon as possible.
Drift Boat Option: A separate payment for your chosen drift boat option will be due by October 20, 2025 (two weeks before the trip).
Lodging Options:
🏠 Rainbow Lodge – Enchanted Hideaway, 1593 Navajo Dam Rd, Blanco, NM 87419
We’ve reserved enough cozy rooms here to accommodate up to 12 anglers—perfect for those who enjoy the comfort of a lodge setting.
⛺ Cottonwood and Pine Campgrounds – Navajo Lake State Park
For those bringing campers or tents, these scenic campsites come with hookups. A daily campsite fee applies, and reservations can be made directly through New Mexico State Parks.
🚐 Dry Camping is also available (no hookups) in the parking lot of Enchanted Hideaway—a great option for the more self-sufficient traveler.
Fishing Options: You can choose to wade on your own at no cost, join other Club members to wade, or hop in a drift boat with a guide. We’ll have multiple boats going out each day, with two anglers per boat. If there’s more interest, we can always request additional boats. The cost is $560 per boat per day (that’s $280 per angler), plus a gratuity of about 20% (~$60 per angler) for the guides.
Meals: We’ll enjoy “family-style” group meals together at the main cabin—4 breakfasts, 4 suppers, and 3 packed lunches (guides will provide your lunch on fishing days). Mealtime chores—like setting up, cooking, serving, and cleanup—will be shared so everyone can pitch in.
If you have any dietary needs or preferences, just let us know so we can plan accordingly. Be sure to bring along your own favorite snacks and beverages. And if you have any health considerations, we should be aware of, please mention them when you register.
